PURTON FLOODS 2001!

Flooding down by the churchWe’ve had a lot of rain this autumn, as I’m sure I don’t need to tell you! However, I was pleased to have been given a photograph showing flooding around Church End during October when the stream running behind the cottages across from the church burst its banks. In itself it may not seem much, but it will be added to our photographic record of the village.

We have quite an extensive collection of photographs on file including buildings in the village and surroundings; group photos of clubs, school years, Scouts and Guides, weddings, work colleagues etc; people; village transport; and many others. If you have any photos – sepia, black and white or colour – that you feel might be of interest to the Museum, we would be pleased to view them. If you can spare a print, all the better, but if not, we can copy them, subject to copyright. It’s amazing how a number of small pieces can build up to an informative jigsaw – and they are indispensable when it comes to planning new exhibitions!
