Visit Purton Historical Society's special website dedicated to the Bicentenary Celebrations for Nevil Maskelyne (1732 - 1811).  The 5th Astronomer Royal had Purton connections and was buried in St Mary's Church graveyard.

Outline of Collection
Purton Museum has a collection which represents 2,000 years of the village’s history from the Ringsbury Camp Iron Age Hillfort, through Roman and Saxon finds towards the present day.
